The team at Galway Tour Company are delighted to introduce Edel Cronin – our very own Rose. Edel who is from Inverin, will be taking part in the Galway Rose Selection 2022 on May 7th at the Clayton Hotel Galway ahead of the Rose of Tralee International Festival.
The festival will return after an absence of two years, and the winner will follow on from Limerick’s Sinead Flanagan who was Rose in 2019. That year, there were 57 women competing for the International prize, which was whittled down to 32 for the live shows.
Edel is a 22 year old student currently finishing up her final year LLB exams. After almost four years of studying law at NUIG, she soon hopes to train in the corporate world. Music and fashion are her biggest interests and Edel used her spare time during the first Covid lockdown to write and produce her own music – releasing two songs and guest appearing on radio and several podcasts. Busy is Edel’s default mode – working as a lifeguard for four years has kept her active, while teaching law to first years in college has kept her humble. Despite her hectic calendar, she has managed to feed her wanderlust. The hustle and bustle of London is her favourite city, and she hopes to travel more often.
Everyone at Galway Tour Company wishes Edel well and we would like to extend a big thank you to Anne Marie of the Galway Rose Centre who has been brilliant looking after Edel and all the other girls throughout the Selection process.
